Portland Hearts of Pine expands support for schools

The Portland Hearts of Pine announced the expansion of the Portland Soccer Project, a free after-school program that uses soccer to help students develop skills in conflict resolution, self-regulation, leadership, and teamwork. The program will now serve two elementary schools, continuing on for a second year at East End Community School and beginning programming at Talbot Community School in February 2026.

The announcement details just one way Hearts of Pine is supporting Portland Public Schools (PPS). The team gave a block of season tickets to PPS to distribute to schools over the coming season. It also donated $2,000 worth of Hannaford gift cards to the Foundation for Portland Public Schools to support families in need.
